Obituary of Bernard Joseph Conners Sr

Lakeland – Bernard Joseph Conners Sr., 80, passed away August 17, 2023. Mr. Conners was born in Salem Massachusetts on December 20,1942 to the late Robert and Anne Conners. Bernard grew up in Salem, MA and graduated from Salem High School in 1960. He was married to Yvonne Pero at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on December 28, 1963. Bernie was a highly decorated Veteran in the United Stated Army and retired after 23 years of service. While in the Army he traveled with his family all around the world and retired in Lakeland FL in 1985. Bernie enjoyed going to the beach, swimming, horseback riding, going to the movies, watching T.V., and spending time with his family. Mr. Conners is preceded by his wife of 65 years, Yvonnes (Pero) Conners, Brothers Robert, Jerry, Sisters Nancy, Patrica. He is survived by his children B.J. (Ginger) Conners, Michelle (Gary) Carlson; grandchildren Theresa Hanson, Michael Carlson and sister Jane Bunaskavich.
