The Cremation Process
Cremation Services of Polk County is your trusted partner in fulfilling final wishes for you or your loved one. We know this is a stressful time, but read on to learn more about how we’ve worked hard to make the difficult easier.
If your loved one has passed away, please let us know as soon as possible by submitting the Contact Us form on this website or by calling us toll free at (863) 215-6554. A Cremation Services of Polk County Specialist is available around the clock to take your call.
After your initial contact with us, we will make all the arrangements to promptly and respectfully transport your loved one to our facility. A Cremation Services of Polk County Transfer Technician will arrive within 2 hours of your notification to take care of all your needs.
Cremation generally occurs within one week after all documents and state approvals are received. These time frames may vary based on physician and medical examiner availability, but your cremation advisor will be in touch with you throughout the process to keep you informed.
Once cremation is complete, we’ll gather your loved one’s remains, place them in the special urn you have chosen, and notify you that the cremated remains are available for pick up. For an additional fee, we can ship them to you at your address. Shipping within the U.S. is tracked at all times via United States Postal Service. You will be notified when your urn has shipped, and a signature will be required upon delivery.
We take special precautions to safeguard identity with a personal identification band that is placed on your loved one the moment he or she is taken into our care. Our personal identification system tracks every phase of the cremation process including name, date, time, your loved one’s personal ID number and the name of the responsible Cremation Services of Polk County Transfer Technician.
We only employ certified cremation technicians who are responsible for reviewing all cremation paperwork, permits and IDs, and who sign their approval prior to cremation. Your loved one’s identification disc is also placed inside the cremation chamber during the cremation process for further positive ID.
Cremation Services of Polk County’s personal identification system and secure facility provide family members with the peace of mind that we will return your loved one’s remains safely back to you.
Unlike many other companies, we own and operate our own crematory. This means from the moment your loved one is entrusted to us, he or she never leaves our care. Cremation Services of Polk County offers low cost options to our customers without ever sacrificing service or security.
We’re always here for you. Just contact us toll free at (863) 215-6554 to talk with a trusted Cremation Specialist.
There are many options to choose from. Cremains can be returned to you to display in an urn of your choice. They can be scattered in a place with individual meaning or in a scattering garden. Cremains can also be placed in a cremation wall space or buried at a cemetery location for a resting place you can visit.
